What family information belongs in the final handoff?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

Provide the intended principal and derivatives, civil records, birth dates, marital status and relevant U.S. immigration history. Identify any age, relationship or status question explicitly rather than assuming the project has already reviewed it.

Confirm each applicant individually

Ask counsel to check derivative eligibility and any applicable CSPA issue, then identify the person’s likely processing route and outstanding records. Keep temporary-status and work-authorization documents where relevant. The family list should match the facts throughout the package.

An investment subscription is not evidence that every listed relative may immigrate or start U.S. employment. Age and relationship questions fail late and hurt most, because they are assumed rather than checked.

A child approaching the derivative cut-off, a marriage or divorce that changes who belongs on the list, a stepchild relationship whose qualifying date nobody has confirmed — none of these announce themselves in a document index. Raise each explicitly, even where the answer looks obvious. Hypothetical example: an investor in a hospitality staffing platform lists an adult child as a derivative on the assumption that families file together, and the age question is examined only once the civil documents are finally translated.

Finding an ineligible derivative early leaves options open; finding it late can mean a separate route, separate timing and a household that had planned to move together.
