Use the session date as a business planning target, not as work authorisation. The employee must meet eligibility requirements and complete the necessary immigration steps before starting the U.S. assignment.
Prepare the knowledge evidence early
Confirm the trainer’s existing expertise and qualifying employment before finalising the programme schedule. Review the real curriculum, duties and worksite, then plan the applicable filing, visa and admission steps. If the programme changes during processing, assess the effect on the case.
Optional premium processing cannot guarantee approval or replace the employee’s demonstrated knowledge. Slippage is normal, so decide in advance what a delay triggers. When a programme moves, the questions become whether the described assignment still exists, whether the employee’s qualifying foreign employment remains within the required look-back, and whether anything in the file has gone stale.
That qualifying year abroad must fall within the three years preceding the petition or admission, and a long postponement can quietly push a transferee’s history toward the edge of the window. Hypothetical example: a boutique hotel operations group defers a systems-training assignment while a property refurbishment overruns, and the specialist meanwhile spends an extended period on an unrelated internal secondment; the foreign employment that supported the petition is no longer the work most recently performed. Report the pause, rather than waiting to report the restart.
