What documents support a knowledge-transfer assignment?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

Combine evidence of the employee’s expertise with a substantive curriculum, planned practical work and the U.S. assignment description. Each should agree about the subject, depth and actual duties.

Show more than a schedule

Use prior projects or assessments to establish capability, then explain how planned instruction transfers it to the team. Identify the intended learners by role, relevant prerequisites and how proficiency will be evaluated. Include implementation or support duties only when genuinely planned.

A calendar of sessions without content or a generic onboarding manual may not explain specialised knowledge. Superseded documents cause more difficulty than missing ones, because a file quietly holding two versions of the curriculum invites the reader to work from the weaker. Preserve each revision, mark which was current at preparation, and note what prompted the change.

Learner roles should be updated when the people change, since a roster of departed employees undermines the description of who the assignment serves. Hypothetical example: an esports venue prepares a training plan around a named group of technical operators, several of whom resign before the start; the plan is delivered to replacements with different backgrounds while the file still shows the original cohort. Adding a dated addendum explaining the substitution is straightforward, whereas discovering the discrepancy during a review is not.
