Review them before implementing a potentially substantive change or starting work in a new activity. Waiting for a scheduled visa renewal may be inappropriate where the change requires earlier approval.
Coordinate two operating timelines
Map acquisition or premises commitments, staffing, funding and the applicable immigration steps. Explain who can lawfully operate the additional business while the investor’s position is unresolved. Check current procedures instead of assuming the expansion will fit a fixed processing window.
Update forecasts if required approvals or commercial dependencies move the opening date. Dates are evidence as well, and the file should let a reader place events in order without help. Keep the signing date, the closing date, the date funds left the investor’s account, the date the premises changed hands and the date the new activity began, each supported by its own record.
Hypothetical example: a packaging machinery investor opens a second demonstration facility a month before the acquisition closes, and the sequence in the documents then contradicts the account given in the plan. Where a review is being scheduled, the chronology is what shows whether a change had already taken place, which is the question that determines what should have been requested and when. Undated files force a reviewer to reconstruct events, and reconstruction rarely favours the applicant.
Ordering the records by date is a short task during preparation and an expensive one afterwards.
