Can financial capacity alone make me a suitable principal applicant?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

No. The official programme requires eligibility for lawful permanent residence, admissibility and an available visa in addition to its financial mechanism.

Ask for an applicant-specific assessment

Bring the relevant personal history to immigration counsel before relying on a cost estimate. A statement that a gift is evidence of benefit does not mean every other condition disappears. The practical first decision is whether to proceed with preparation, investigate an issue or consider other options with qualified advice.

Ask for an assessment specific to the applicant rather than a description of the programme, and notice if what comes back is the latter. Financial capacity establishes the ability to pay and nothing about suitability, which turns on the individual's own history: prior immigration and travel history, any refusal, removal or overstay, criminal matters wherever they arose, any prior misrepresentation, and anything else bearing on admissibility. Those are assessed on the person regardless of any payment, and no payment resolves them.

Put the whole history to counsel, including the parts that are uncomfortable, and ask for a written view identifying what they reviewed and what they could not. Establish separately what classification the arrangement contemplates and under what authority, taking that from official materials rather than from a proposal.
