Can I choose corporate Gold Card terms simply because I own a company?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

Company ownership alone does not resolve whether a proposed sponsorship arrangement fits the programme. Identify the entity, employee and intended contribution for legal review.

Describe the actual relationship

Ask counsel to explain the current corporate instructions as applied to your role. Avoid treating company funds as personal funds in the proposal or assuming the individual route and corporate route are interchangeable. Eligibility, admissibility and visa availability still concern the prospective immigrant.

Ownership of a company does not by itself determine which set of terms applies; the arrangement described has to match the terms as the programme actually defines them. Set out the real relationship in plain words before choosing a label: who employs whom, who would benefit, who would pay, and on what authority. Then check that description against current official materials rather than against an adviser's summary.

Where the individual controls the company, the two are still separate legal persons, and the programme's treatment of each may differ in ways that matter for documentation, cost and obligation. Confirm as well that the arrangement is presently available on the terms quoted rather than announced. And note that whichever route is described, admissibility is assessed on the individual's own history, and no payment resolves a question of admissibility.
