The FAQ describes a 1% annual maintenance fee and a separate transfer fee. Confirm the current basis, timing and applicable instructions before calculating an obligation.
Make the budget reviewable
Keep recurring charges separate from the original gift and from any future change-specific costs. Ask who is responsible for monitoring and authorising them. This guide does not infer an invoice schedule, cancellation procedure or tax treatment from the percentage shown on the public website.
Percentages and charges described on a public page are evidence of what the page said on the day it was read, which is why the retrieval date belongs in the budget note beside the figure quoted above. A recurring charge needs a basis, a trigger and an authorising signature recorded separately from the original approval, since a single approval covering everything cannot later show what was actually sanctioned. Hypothetical example: a live-event production sponsor carries a forecast for ongoing charges built by an analyst who has since left, and the workbook contains no reference to the source it was drawn from or when.
Rebuilding the figure is straightforward only where the source is identified. Keep a dated copy of the terms with the forecast, and do not infer an invoice schedule, cancellation procedure or tax treatment from a published rate.
