VAUGHAN · GOLD CARD FIELD GUIDE

Can I choose Gold Card solely because an adviser says it is faster than EB-5?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

A general speed claim is not enough to establish the appropriate route or your completion date.

Compare case-specific dependencies

Ask counsel to explain availability, evidence preparation and the applicable stages for each actual proposal. The Gold Card site describes expedited handling but still imposes eligibility and availability conditions. This guide does not publish a head-to-head processing forecast or assume that a higher expenditure secures faster or more certain residence.

Decisions about pace sit with different people, and it helps to say plainly which ones the applicant controls. Assembling records, answering questions promptly and instructing advisers are within the applicant’s control. Availability, adjudication and the sequence of any consular step are not, and no adviser can commit to them.

Hypothetical example: an industrial coatings owner plans a plant handover around a promised completion window, when the person who offered that window has no part in any decision capable of producing it. Ask counsel who monitors each dependency and who will tell the applicant that a term or condition has changed, since terms should be re-verified before money moves. A schedule with a named owner for every step is a plan; a schedule resting on an assurance from outside the process is a hope.

Put those names in writing at the outset, because unassigned steps are the ones that slip.
