Request the written offer, an accurate description of the proposed duties and the employer’s plan for providing a TN support letter. On your side, locate citizenship evidence and the academic or professional records relevant to the proposed category. A résumé is useful background but does not establish every credential.
Create a document responsibility list
Use a simple list showing the document, its owner and the question it answers. For example, the supervisor confirms professional activities while human resources confirms pay and dates. Flag discrepancies between the job posting and the offer so the employer can explain them truthfully.
Do not ask the company to sign a category description it cannot verify. Final application requirements depend on the route and facts; this early list is a preparation tool, not a universal filing checklist. When two records disagree, decide in advance which one settles the point.
A payroll system generally settles compensation, an organizational record settles reporting lines, and only the person who designed the role can settle what the work involves day to day. Ranking your sources this way prevents a polished recruiting document from overriding the operational truth it summarizes. Keep your own credential evidence on the same list: the degree or licence relied upon, the institution that issued it, and whether an original, a certified copy or an evaluation is what you actually hold.
Requesting a replacement transcript or a professional body’s letter can take weeks, so the retrieval date belongs beside each item. A document you have not seen with your own eyes should be marked as unconfirmed regardless of who promised it.
