How much does an L-1B transfer cost?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

There is no single total for every case. Costs may include petition filing fees, applicable supplemental charges, visa or admission-related costs, professional preparation, translations, dependent applications and optional premium processing where available.

Obtain a route-specific estimate

Check the current official fee schedule and the petitioner’s relevant fee category before filing. Keep relocation and business operating costs separate from immigration charges. L-1B does not require a fixed investor contribution, although a new office must meet financial-capacity requirements.

An estimate should identify what is included and which later changes or applications would create additional work. Estimates are built on a set of assumptions, and the assumptions expire. Hypothetical example: A market research firm budgets for a single individual petition, then decides to add a second transferee and to move the first assignment to a client site; the second decision changes the evidence required, not merely the volume of it, and a quote priced on the original facts no longer describes the work.

Ask at the outset which changes would trigger a revised estimate — an added dependent application, a switch between individual and blanket procedures where available, a new worksite, a request for further evidence, or a refiling. Confirm the applicable official fees again at the moment of filing, since a figure captured during planning may no longer be the one that applies.
