Resolve ownership and valuation issues before making the asset central to the E-2 investment schedule. If rights cannot be transferred or their value is unsupported, the capital and operating explanation may need material revision.
Allow time for evidence review
Collect creator, employment and contractor agreements early and compare them with proposed enterprise rights. Confirm that commercial launch does not depend on an unresolved licence or assignment. The time needed for those tasks is separate from immigration processing.
An application deadline should not drive an unsupported valuation or an inaccurate claim that the enterprise already owns the asset. Decide who has to act before deciding when. Former employers release or confirm rights; contractors sign assignments; registries record transfers; a valuer needs instructions before beginning.
None of those people work to your application schedule, and none can be chased into agreeing. Hypothetical example: a dental laboratory investor plans around a filing month while an assignment from a former design partner remains unsigned, so the central asset in the capital explanation is still held by someone under no obligation to complete the transfer. Sequence the people, then the dates.
If a right cannot be secured, the honest response is to revise the capital and operating explanation rather than to describe the enterprise as owning something it does not yet own.
