Collect civil and age-related information early and ask counsel to identify the events that could change the child’s position. Review any separate student or other status on its own terms if relevant. Avoid treating an EB-5 receipt as permission to move, study or work under a chosen interim arrangement.
Keep enrolment and accommodation decisions responsive to the family’s actual immigration status. Verify what each date actually controls before building a plan on it. A university offer controls a place in a programme; a receipt for an investor petition controls nothing about where anyone may live, study or work; and visa availability moves on a schedule none of the parties sets.
