How often should the case log be reviewed?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

Set a practical monitoring routine and review every new official notice promptly, using the actual deadlines stated in it.

Avoid guessing at deadlines

Assign backup responsibility if the usual contact travels or becomes unavailable. Record when counsel needs your documents to prepare a response. This guide does not invent a universal response period, and timely monitoring helps preparation without guaranteeing the agency will act within a particular number of days.

Assign the monitoring duty to a named person and a named backup, then agree how often each checks and what they do with what they find. A rota existing only in an understanding fails during holidays, which is when notices tend to arrive. Read the deadline from the notice itself.

Never infer one from what someone experienced on another case, and never treat an adviser’s estimate of internal preparation time as the government’s date. Agree how long counsel needs before a stated deadline and count backwards from there to the date the applicant must supply documents. That internal date is the one your household actually manages.

Tell the backup where the log lives and what a notice looks like, because a duty nobody can perform is not cover. Programme timing is described as still developing, so confirm the current procedure rather than assuming an earlier schedule still applies to your case.
